The Government Control Story

If there were a "Government Control" party, or a candidate that represented more government control, would Americans vote for them?  The majority of us would likely not vote in favor of more government control.

If there were a "Government Influence" party or a similar candidate, what then?  Would Americans vote that way?  More Americans could vote this way because we have people who believe in government influence in this country, but most would not vote this way.

What happens when Government Control or Influence is masked as something else?  Something like ACA, something that is marketed as helping the people?  What happens when the people being helped learn to rely on the government for its needs?  What happens when motivation is replaced by complacency?

That's called socialism, and it's happening right here in the United States of America.

It creeps in when people are distracted and not paying attention.  Do you think Americans are distracted today?  More than ever.  We care more about video games, sex tapes, reality TV, and gadgets than we do about the security of our country and preserving the ideal of America.

Time to rewrite the user manual for being an American.
